Could you give me some advice on how to control my mind during auditions?

I tend to get really nervous during exams or important tests.😟 How can I stop feeling nervous and confidently show everything I’ve prepared?
It’s frustrating because I often make mistakes or fail to show my confident side due to my anxiety. I’d love to know how others manage to stay calm and handle their nerves in similar situations!🙂

Feeling nervous during auditions or exams is totally normal! Here are a few simple tips to help you stay calm and confident.

1. Change Your Mindset

Instead of thinking, “I’m nervous,” tell yourself, “I’m excited.” It helps turn nervous energy into positive energy.

2. Breathe Deeply

Before the audition, take slow, deep breaths to calm your body. Breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 4, and exhale for 6.

3. Positive Self-Talk

Say things like, “I’ve prepared, I can do this,” instead of “What if I mess up?” Positive thoughts can reduce anxiety.

4. Practice Under Stress

Perform in front of friends or record yourself to get used to pressure. The more you practice like it’s real, the more confident you’ll feel.

5. Focus on the Moment

Don’t worry about mistakes. Stay focused on what you’re doing right now.

6. Accept Imperfection

Nobody’s perfect. Even if you make a mistake, it’s okay. What matters is showing your best effort.

With time and practice, handling nerves will get easier. Trust yourself and your preparation—you’ve got this! 🙂
