Curious About the Meaning of '기안장'.

Hi! I’m a big fan of BTS, and Jin is one of my favorite members.
That’s why I got really excited when I saw him appear on a new Korean variety show on Netflix called "기안장."
The show looks so fun, but I’m really curious — what does "기안장" mean in Korean?
Since it’s a variety show and not a drama, I feel like the title must have a special or funny meaning.
I’m learning Korean little by little, and understanding the title would help me enjoy the show even more.
If anyone could explain it, I would be so happy!

Hi! It’s awesome that you’re learning Korean and enjoying Korean variety shows too!

About the title "기안장", here’s a simple explanation:

  • "기안" (gian) usually means "draft" or "plan" — like a rough idea or a first version of something.
  • "장" (jang) often means "chief" or "head" — someone in charge.

So when you put them together, "기안장" could be loosely understood as something like "Chief of Drafts" or "Head of Planning".
It sounds kind of official, but because this is a variety show, the title is meant to be fun and playful rather than serious.

It’s probably highlighting the idea that the cast members are trying out new ideas, making rough plans, or just leading fun projects without being super formal — just like a "draft boss" in a funny way!

Understanding the playful tone behind the title will definitely help you enjoy the show even more.
Keep up your Korean learning — you’re doing great!
