Hi! I have a question about living in Korea.
I’m from another country and I really want to be a K-pop idol one day.
If I go to Korea to train, I think everything will feel very new.
Will it be hard to get used to the food or the way people talk?
Do trainees from other countries feel lonely sometimes?
I want to learn about Korean culture so I won’t be too confused or scared.
If anyone knows what it’s like to live in Korea as a trainee, please tell me!
Thank you so much!
Hi! Moving to Korea as a trainee can be exciting but also a bit challenging at first.
Food and Language
Korean food is different, and some trainees find it hard at first, but many learn to like it over time. You can also find familiar food in bigger cities. The Korean language might be hard at first too, but trainees often take Korean classes and practice every day.
Feeling Lonely
It’s normal for foreign trainees to feel lonely or homesick sometimes because they’re far from family and friends. But many trainees make close friends with others in the dorm or company, so you’re not alone.
Korean Culture
Learning about Korean customs, manners, and daily life before you go can really help. Things like bowing to say hello, taking off shoes indoors, and polite language are important in Korea.
Tip
Try to stay positive and open-minded. It takes time to adjust, but many foreign trainees succeed and love their life in Korea after a while!
