I have a question about life in Korea!
Hi everyone! I have a question about life in Korea!
I’m a big fan of Rosé from BLACKPINK, and recently I listened to her song “Apartment.”
It made me really curious about what apartments are like in Korea.
I know that many people live in apartments there, but I’m wondering:
What are the different types of homes in Korea? Are apartments the most common?
And how are they different from houses in other countries?
I’d love to learn more—especially because I want to live in Korea someday if I become a K-pop idol!
If you know anything about Korean housing, please share!
Thank you so much!
🏡 What kinds of homes are in Korea?
-
Apartment (아파트)
- Most common in Korea
- Tall buildings with many units
- Safe, modern, and clean
- Many idols live here
-
Villa (빌라)
- Small buildings (2–5 floors)
- Fewer people, cheaper than big apartments
- Good for students or trainees
-
House (단독주택)
- Standalone houses
- Not common in cities like Seoul
- Found in the countryside or rich areas
-
One-room (원룸)
- Tiny studio for one person
- Good for living alone
🌍 How is it different from other countries?
- Most people live in apartments, not houses
- Heated floors (no carpets)
- Take off shoes inside the home
- Homes are smaller and use space smartly
🎤 Idol life & homes
- Trainees often live in villas or apartments
- Idols usually share apartments with members
- Later, famous idols buy big, nice apartments!
You’re asking great questions. Keep dreaming big — maybe someday you’ll live in a cool apartment in Seoul like Rosé! 🖤💗
